Immigration in Australia

Australia is the world’s smallest continent and the world’s largest island that has attracted millions of tourists because of its classical and modern facets. The Avant-garde Streamline and the Sydney Opera House full display its magnificent. It has Gold Coast and there are many exciting activities in the sea. The Mystery of the Great Barrier Reef and the beautiful underwater world are also extremely attractive and very impressive. Australia also have extensive and in-depth rural mainland. The people together with the government also work hand-in-hand for the protection of animals and natural heritage. Australia will continue to retain its unique natural beauty.

(1) Land area
   About 7,700,000 square kilometers

(2) Geographical environment
    Located in the southern hemisphere. Its terrain is magnificent. In the southeast are mountains, Great Barrier Reef in the northeast and it has vast central desert.

(3) Climate
    The temperature varies because the whole island is a marine environment. Two-thirds of the region belongs to the temperate climate and one-third has tropical and pleasant climate with plenty of sunshine.

(4) Population
    Australia has about 19 million people, including the indigenous Maoris. The early immigrants have come from more than 100 countries worldwide.

(5) Language
    The official language is English.

The right of abode/ passport
    Australia is a country with many ethnic backgrounds. 23% of its population was born in other countries, and more than one quarter of the population have at least one foreign-born parent. A diverse culture has become one of Australia's national identities. It is also known as a country in the face of rapidly changing challenges.

    Australian immigration policy is open and fair. They do not set quotas and they screen all applicants. The category for immigrants can be broadly divided into the following:
(1) Partner immigrants
    The so-called partners could include spouses, prospective spouses (unmarried couples) and interdependent partners.

(2) Immigrant children
    May include independent children, adopted children or orphaned relatives.

(3) Immigrant parents

(4) Other types of family members immigrants
    Relatives can also migrate to Australia as the caregiver of the elderly relatives.

(5) The employer sponsored workers category

(6) General categories of skilled migrants


(7) Commercial skilled migrants category (divided into five categories)

    1. Business owners’ category
    2. Senior executive category
    3. Territory/ State government support for the categories of enterprise
    4. Territory/ State government support for the senior executive category
    5. Related investment categories
(8) The special immigration category
    Some do not fall within the above categories that is why this type of application will have certain special conditions as the basis .
(9) Processing of immigration applications
    Immigrants apply for the appointment → prepare paper and necessary documents → let translated documents be notarized → receive notice for interviews → application is reviewed (depending on the category and case) → the embassy issue approval letter and entry visas → live in Australia two to five years → naturalization oath.

Educational environment
    Australia gives emphasis to education. The quality of education in Australia is a world-class level. Australia's education system is under the state government jurisdiction. The federal government is strictly controlling the quality of education. The diplomas issued by the schools in Australia are not only recognized by other states which have mutual agreement with Australia but also recognized by the world.

    Majority of students in Australia started to go to school at an early age. In the pre-school centers, the primary students start at age six or seven (varies from state to state). The students will continue to study in the middle-school. The education is f ree in the primary and secondary school curricula. More than 70% of children are attending public schools. After graduation, students may choose to further their studies in a practical course such as in the specialist technology colleges and the academic-oriented university courses. Their eligibility is based on their 12th-grade graduation examination results.

In recent years, the higher education in Australia has become an essential element to its economic and social structure. More particularly, it has produced a number of Nobel scientists.

Investment
    Australia 's development can be attributed to its rich resources. Australia is recognized worldwide due to its high-quality and low-cost raw materials. Trade in Australia also plays a significant role. It mainly exports coal, wool, iron ore, beef, oil and other fuels, cotton, milk, and wheat. Sophisticated merchandise exports are also increasing. The major trading partners are the United States, Japan, New Zealand, China, Singapore, South Korea, Britain and Germany.

  The state government strongly support and encourage the development of industries to increase the export of value-added goods through implementing economic policies, tax cuts and low-interest loans and other incentives.
