Communication: Austria is not like in other countries in using the telephone as a means of communication. In Austria, it is not easy and convenient to use the telephone except for emergency purposes. So it is advisable to have mobile or cellular phones. Prepaid cards are for sale at shops or canteens.

Shop : Most shops are open Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.. Some are open until Saturday and Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm. Airport and railway station stores are also open Monday to Sunday and even holidays in longer hours.

Bank : Most banks are open from Monday to Friday 8:00 -12:00 pm then from 1:30pm to 3:00 pm. During Thursdays, banks have longer working hours in the afternoon. It will be from 1:30 pm to 5:00pm.

Vienna is the capital of Austria. It has a population of some 1.5 million. If you enter Austria, a bus can take you to the city proper in about 20 minutes from the airport. One-way fares from the Airport to the downtown area of the Hilton hotel or the West Railway Station is about 5.8 euros. You may pre-book for C&K taxi from the airport to urban area through telephone number 4444. it would cost you about 21.8 euros for the ride.
Vienna urban public transport is extremely convenient. You may have advance booking or buy tickets either from the ticket machine at the MRT station, or from the Tabak outlets. Aside from the MRT, tourist may travel through the subway station or on trams, and buses. Tickets are to be purchased. If found not to have bought a ticket, you will be fined of 40.7 euros. One-way fare for subway station, bus, trams is only 1.5 euros.
Not all shops, hotels and restaurants accept credit cards. It is advisable to have cash on hand. There are a lot of money changers in the downtown district to change your currency.
