Necessary Conditions for Studying in Denmark
Should have taken English courses and have TOEFL score of at least 550 and IELTS score above 6.0. Students should be over 18 years old.
Arrival in Denmark
Denmark is a small country and majority of immigrants are from Copenhagen Jylland (Jylland) and Germany.
You can buy tickets in the first floor of Copenhagen Airport . 26 years old students with passports for Denmark can have “Wild Card” for the national railway (DSB), and those who have the leading youth card can also enjoy concessionary fares.
School registration and student accommodation
Schools will solve all your problems. Some schools provide temporary accommodation for students who are still looking for an apartment.
For Yellow Card
Denmark students receive yellow card after one to two weeks of their registration. Through this card, they will have free medical check-ups and free access to library resources. The student’s address and birthday is marked in the Yellow card and also the name of the doctor.
Work permits and tax card
In Denmark; students can have work permits as long as they fill up an application form at the public security bureau.Tax card processing is also very simple but if you don’t want high taxes cards you need to have the certificate of work units.
Bank account (Danske Bank for example)
Opening an account is very simple. Clerk can fill in the application form on your behalf and then you can just sign. One week after, you will be receiving the bank cards, passwords and the letter of instruction to activate your account.

Denmark 's consumer card, Dankort, and VISA (informal credit cards) are also often used for consumption purposes. The former is used in Denmark and the latter can be used throughout the world, but not overdrawn. VISA cards need proof of monthly income and follow other procedures for bank cards.
Renewal of Visa
Visa can be renewed at the local Public Security Bureau or the Immigration and Naturalization Service office. If the student will study in the same school in the second year, renewal process is very simple, or even signed on the spot. I f student does not want to go home and just have holiday travel, visa processing time have to be more than one month. Also, you can give reasonable grounds when applying for a one-month extension of the visa.
General requirements to submit are visa, school’s confirmation letter, and 4,000 Danish kroner to prove financial support or capability (bank accounts). |
