1. On Student Visa
All Chinese students who enter France to study for at least three months must apply for a student visa. It is the visa that allows the holder to stay within the specified period of time in the French territory.
For those who need to enter France to participate in entrance examinations or who need to go to France to visit prospective higher education university, students can apply for the named FORUM - concourse visa which allows the holder to stay in France for a maximum of ninety days. Once admitted to a French university, the holder of the FORUM Visa may apply for the student visa directly in France, without the need to return to the country of origin. Institutions of higher learning have certain conditions for students to be officially and completely registered. Nevertheless, the students may enroll short course and apply for student visa.

1. Tourist visas can not be converted into student visas. This policy is implemented in all EU countries.
2. International Students who shall stay in France for more than three months s are required to apply for a student ID (student identification card).
3. Requirements for French Student Visa Application
1. Passports
The passport must be valid until the validity of visas.
2. Proof of enrollment
Admission Letter from the university. Your university, private or public, will provide this document. It must indicate your name and your curriculum degree. If you will attend a private school, the document must also indicate the required hours and the registration fee having been paid.
3. Proof of Financial Capability
The student must present proofs of economic capacity during his/her stay in France. The average monthly cost of living is 3,000 francs. Should the student have been awarded scholarship; she/he must also present the certificate indicating the amount of scholarship and its validity. If the student has an economic guarantor, he/she must present relevant documents about the guarantor. In particular, the student must present a signed letter of economic guarantor, the guarantor valid identity, as well as the guarantor’s economic capacity certificate.
If the economic security is provided by someone outside of France, the students must provide proof of the bank deposits which must be with French/English translation, and signed letter of the guarantor.
4. Health insurance
Student aging 28 and above must provide certificate of health insurance.
5. Authorized custody
Minors (under 18 years of age) must provide proper proofs of custody such as letter of consent signed by the guardian.
6. Vaccine records
Sometimes, in applying for a visa, the consulate may require you to produce the proof of vaccination records (for example: yellow fever vaccine, cholera vaccines, etc.).
