Hungary is located in Central Europe. It is not even 1% of China’s size and population. According to the information released by the Ministry of Education, there are 89 national institutions. More than one-third of the total number of schools, which is 31, is open to foreign students. Majority of the schools have specialist degrees and certificates. In 1999, according to Hungarian Ministry of Education, there are over 5,700 students in 27 institutions. In addition, there are also a considerable number of short-term visiting scholars and graduate students. Foreign universities in Hungary and other international schools with Hungarian branch have cooperated in recruiting students. There are a total of more than 6,500 students who enroll per year.
According to number of students among the top 10 schools, five medical institutions (including veterinary), two agriculture institutions, and engineering schools, Hungary’s education standard is high. Hungary 's high level of medical education has a great influence in Europe. In particular its University of Veterinary Medicine is very impressive. Hungary 's agriculture, green agriculture, and modern crop cultivation technology is among the world's advanced level. Moreover, Liszt Academy of Music is a world-renowned music academy and has nearly 100 students.

 Although Hungary's education level is not low, there are still gaps compared with the developed western countries. As a small country, it has been able to attract large numbers of students. In addition to the quality of education, teaching facilities and other factors, students go to Hungary because of the following three reasons :
1, the international community recognizes its degree qualifications :
Most of the countries in the world, especially European countries, recognize the degree awarded by Hungary’s educational institutions.
Students can not only use their degree for employment in their home countries but they can also use it for further education in other countries.
Education in Hungary is such a good investment. The time, money and effort exerted have high return.
2, foreign language teaching:
Hungarian language is not commonly used in schools. Hungary institutions admit students generally for foreign language learning. Institutions mainly use English as a medium of instruction. Some also use French and German.
3, relatively low tuition fees:
If you want to pursue a Doctor of Medicine (MD), the maximum annual tuition is 8,000 U.S. dollars. If you pursue the same degree in United States and the European countries, annual fees will be more than 10,000 U.S. dollars or even as high as 15000 -20000 U.S. dollars.
In the field of Engineering, the most popular degree are electronics and information technology and the annual tuition fees are not more than 10,000 U.S. dollars. It is lower than the United States and Western European countries prestigious universities.
Outstanding students in their academics are also entitled to tuition incentives. The maximum cut out is about 25%. It is precisely because student’s tuition fees and living expenses are relatively low.
These three factors are combined by Hungary to develop leading edge in education and to attract students both foreign and local.

Admitted students to Hungary ’s higher education bring a variety of benefits mainly in the following aspect: Additional operating costs. Students pay tuition which is 3-4 times higher than the Hungarian nationals. It is therefore obvious that foreign students can give economic benefits. Their tuition plays a positive role to schools especially if there is insufficient state education funding to schools.
 Promote education quality. Students who have graduated from Hungary go back to their home country to get a job. They participate in local employment competition and because of the quality of their international education there is greater chance for them to be accepted. This will in return promote Hungary’s quality of education.
 Promote exchanges and expand influence. Students’ education is an important component and educational exchanges are an external manifestations of the schools’ and the state’s education standards. Hungary ’s students and universities have high reputation in the world (such as Liszt Academy of Music).
