Advantages of Studying in Japan

The Ministry of Education of Japan has set up since 2000 a specialized program for foreign students studying in Japan. Universities and other higher learning institutions strictly implement the policy on scholarships. The system of Language Schools and other major institutions recommend each student to pay 54,000 yen a month for tuition. This policy led to the gradual expansion on the scope and admission to the scholarship program. One of these benefits of this scholarship is for the Japanese government to provide medical and health insurance to foreign students. Aside from this, universities in Japan have their own medical insurance system for foreign students.

During summer and winter, students will attend classes 28 hours a week. But the students have options to add or lessen the time of studying. With the progress of international students exchanges, the number of foreign students from across the globe is about 90,005 students and 550 tourists as of 2002 survey.
