School Application to Japan

   For students hoping to study in Japan, it is important to know your purpose of going to Japan, the method of application, timing, and knowledge of the school you are applying to.

First, Study Purposes

  • Language studies: to study abroad to learn Japanese language education facilitates students to enter a private university or to any educational institutions.

  • Long-term study: In order to get a place to study.

  • Short-term study abroad: At present, some Chinese universities and Japan have exchange student program. These students go to Japan and take Japanese studies classes, summer workshops, or a 1-3 months of short-term study.

Second, Study Appropriations

  • Publicly-funded overseas study: the government of Japan (Ministry of Education) scholarship for students.

  • Pay their own way: Students who can meet the education expenses. Students can apply scholarship only after they were enrolled in the university and not everyone can be given a scholarship. Only few Chinese students get scholarship in Japan.

 

The most important thing to consider before studying in Japan is to first make a good school selection. Be sure that you know very well the background of the university because Chinese and Japanese universities are very different. You need to understand the difficult situations in applying to the school. You can ask a friend, visit the internet or libraries and pay attention to the following matter: What programs are offered? Achievements? Japanese skill? Scholarship? In general these considerations vary from person to person. Some like to go to Some like private universities than or to the old National University, or to the famous universities.

   What is important in choosing a school whether it teaches a excellent vocational skills and life principles that you can use in the future. However, they accept students or not on the basis of the results of entrance examinations. Therefore, it is advisable for students to take more than two examinations and choose among the 90 schools.

Applicants must make clear the following:

  • Contents of the Curriculum

  • Research facilities

  • Scholarships and financial assistance

  • School fees and other necessary expenses

  • Quarters

  • Entrance Examination

  • Availability of learning

  • Special learning programs

  • Location of the environment

Schools outside Tokyo have more advantages such as prices, cheaper accommodation, small class teaching, and work closely with regional integration. In choosing schools, it is best not to limit your selections of school to the surrounding Tokyo but also in the other state.
