South Korea Student Visa Category

C3 visa
The C3 visa is issued to those who are planning to stay in Korea for less than 90 days . Students who want to stay in Korea for more than 90 days should apply for a D-4 visa .

D4 visa
Those who want to attend the Korean Language program can also apply for this multiple-entry visa for direct extension.

D2 visa
Issued to students who want to be educated at university or college in South Korea.

What is the difference between a C3 and D4 visa?
C3 visa are for those who want to study in the language institutions while D4 visa are for students who want to enter different institutions of learning.

C3 visa applications are for short period of time, usually about one and a half months. C3 student visa holders in schools, under the new arrangements, may have their visa replaced with D4 upon their return to China.

If you are applying for D4 visa, you first need the issuance of visa permit from South Korea’s Ministry of Justice. The South Korean embassy needs this document before processing the D4 visa which normally takes a long cycle. Students need at least 3-4 months in advance for overseas clearance.

C3 visa replacement

At present, the Chinese language learning students in Seoul, South Korea abide by the law and school rules. If they have more than 80% attendance and are serious in their studies, the schools will help them replace C3 visa to D4.
