Philippine embassy in China simplifying visa procedures

   The Philippine Embassy in China, introduced in February 1, 2002 simplified visa guidelines for Chinese nationals visiting the Philippines. Visa requirements for short-term business and leisure travelers have been simplified, and visa application procedures are shortened to no more than three days. Moreover, visa fee was also reduced to RMB 250 per person.

   The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong will also abide in these new requirements.

   The Philippines also gives privileges to the Chinese passport holders such as transacting business in Laoag, Ilocos Norte and visa-free access to the Subic Bay Free Trade Area and Clark Development Area.

Tourism or Business Visa Requirements:

  1. Passport and travel document valid for at least six (6) months beyond the authorized date of stay in the Philippines;

  2. Completed visa application form with photograph;

  3. Proof of financial capacity through any of the following documents:

    1. Employment certificate

    2. Certificate of property ownership

    3. Written guarantee executed by an accredited Chinese travel
      agency

    4. Bank statement

    5. Internationally-valid credit card and its photocopy; or

    6. Written guarantee executed by a Filipino citizen or                      reputable Philippine company

  1. Confirmed air travel ticket and its photocopy; and

  2. Visa fee of RMB250 per applicant
