Singapore 's education resources are quite rich although it also suffered from financial crisis in Southeast Asia. This crisis has played an important role in helping Singapore development. In particular, the crisis upheld education, human resources development and promoted economic development approach in wider perspective to enhance the government's emphasis on the education situation. As one of the four dragons of Asia, Singapore recognized the importance of training of students and attracts Chinese students to choose to study in Singapore. Since Singapore is a well-developed country, students can have a solid training in science and technology. They can also have a strong foundation in English for the future prospects.

Education system in Singapore
The goal of education system in Singapore especially for Chinese and overseas students is to provide a balanced education through the cultivation of the family, community and national sense of responsibility and nurturing good citizens. Singapore schools accept applicants who have 10 years of school education, which includes six years of primary education and four or five years of secondary education. In addition, after decades of conventional education, the students can also choose schools after graduation from Technology Institute, polytechnics, junior colleges and other vocational training courses. At this stage, students in Singapore can further their education in overseas universities or they can look for direct employment.

Higher Education
Singapore is a Commonwealth country. The tertiary education system and curriculum emulate mostly from the British education system. Of course, Singapore is constantly adjusting and absorbing innovations for the establishment of first-rate education system. Singapore higher education is made up of institutions, universities, academies and teacher training colleges and so on. Programs offered are divided into undergraduate degree, master's degree and doctorate. Undergraduate study usually takes three years. An academic excellence in the undergraduate studies enables a student to have one more year to obtain an honorary degree. Honorary degree grade (like other honorary degree and second class honors degree) is still the first degree phase of education. In Singapore, master's degree academic structure is usually 1-2 years. Doctoral degree academic structure is usually 3-5 years.

Primary education
Singapore has a total of 196 primary schools and five of them are attached to secondary schools. Secondary schools have a total of 147 schools including 18 autonomous schools, eight independent schools, 14 junior colleges and four high schools. In addition, there are three universities, four polytechnics, 34 technical and commercial training institutes in Singapore. Primary education is a four-year foundation stage (Primary 1 to 4) and a two-year orientation stage (Primary 5 to 6). The foundation stage is the first stage of formal schooling. The four years, from primary 1 to 4, provide a foundation in English, mother tongue (which includes Chinese, Malay, Tamil) and Mathematics. Science is taught from Primary 3 onwards. All students will be promoted to the orientation stage after Primary 4. Students will be put at the appropriate level according to the ability of the student. Schools are given the flexibility to develop their own examinations to match students with the levels that suit them. At the end of Primary 6, the national Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) is held. The examination determines whether the student is ready to leave primary school by passing; however the primary purpose of the examination is to eventually allocate places in secondary schools to students based on their performance in the examination. Based on the level O test scores, students may enroll in 2-3 years of junior college, technical college or polytechnic to continue learning. The N level examinations are intended for students who choose to attend vocational schools or colleges to continue their learning. Students at the junior college courses may participate in a proficiency test or university entrance examination to continue studies.
