Universities of South Africa: The two features and their advantages

South Africa is a fascinating place to study. It has excellent higher education system comprising of 21 universities and l5 Technikons (Universities of Technology). Scientists and social researchers in South Africa are presented with an extraordinary range of opportunities to design, test and refine solutions to pressing social, technological and developmental problems. 

South African academics are deeply involved with the society around them. Many universities and Technikons have excellent facilities and research departments and their academics are well qualified.

University
South Africa 's oldest university in Cape Town, founded in 1829 and ranked 39 th internationally is the Jinshan International University. The University of South Africa is the world's largest network of universities. The Human Organ Transplant (the world's first heart transplant) in Compton Nankai University is known for its success. South Africa is also one of the leaders in oral medicine, architecture and design, mining, metallurgy, environmental protection, management, and other aspects. The universities which have a hundred-year history were: Rhodes University, Orange Free State University, the University of Shitanlin Bush, Pretoria University, the University of Jinshan, and Tartu University.

Polytechnic
Polytechnic Schools offer courses that focus on practical application. They also work closely with the community. South Africa 's tertiary education system is highly interactive and innovative. According to the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the purpose of teaching of Polytechnic University is to provide and promote high-quality vocational education for the students to have very strong adaptability technical capabilities. South Africa’s 15 Polytechnic University is becoming world-class and Polytechnic University graduates can become good employees to the SMEs.

Diploma/degree structure list:
Doctor of Technology: 1 year. However, some professional doctoral graduate courses need a longer period.

Master of Technology: At least a year.

Bachelor of Technology: 1 year. However, some professional postgraduate courses need a longer period.
