Student Visa Application for Undergraduate and Graduate Students

Visa Requirements for undergraduate students :

  • Notarized or certified high school diploma and transcripts.

  • The above-mentioned document should also be translated in English or French, German, and Swedish.

  • Internationally certified English proficiency test report card.

  • Economic guarantees.

Undergraduate applicants, though they do not pay tuition, are required to have sufficient funds for their daily expenses during the duration of their study in Sweden. There should be a bank certificate issued by banks in China. If the applicant has a sponsor in Sweden to pay for security costs, the guarantor must produce a notarized economic guarantee containing the specific amount. Meanwhile, the guarantor must also produce proof of their bank deposits and an employment or income certificate issued by their employer to prove that they have accumulated that deposit. If the guarantor is residing abroad, he must produce a proof showing that the deposit can freely moved overseas. Swedish immigration authorities will check the documents presented by the guarantor and if not sufficient for the security costs of studying abroad, they will not issue a visa.

Undergraduate applicants for the enrollment in August must submit their application materials on December 1 the previous year. The Swedish embassy consular office will conduct the preliminary hearing. After that, the documents will be sent to the immigration authorities for final review. Results will be issued in June and the Swedish embassy will notify the student.

Visa Requirements for studying Master’s degree in Sweden:

  • University/college admission in Sweden

  • Economic guarantee. Show that you have enough money to support yourself throughout the planned study period. Proof that you can support yourself must be provided, e g in the form of some kind of documentation certifying your own or your sponsor’s bank assets, a letter of guarantee from your sponsor, or documentation certifying that you have received either a scholarship or student benefit from your country of origin/domicile.

  • Valid passport issued by the Chinese government.

Apply at a Swedish embassy or consulate and submit the required documents as soon as possible. The embassy or consulate sends your application to the Migration Board in Sweden, which takes permit decisions. The processing time is about two moths. You will be notified of the decision by the embassy or consulate to which you applied.
