Swedish Student Visa Requirements

How to apply for a residence permit and student visa

After the embassy received your application, they will arrange interviews or telephone conversations. After the conversation, your application materials will be directly sent to the Swedish Migration Board. Please provide the following:

  • Two seriously filled in detailed application form;

  • Two colored passport photographs;

  • Two copies of passport (validity more than 6 months);

  • One invitation from Sweden or Swedish Institute or University;

  • Acceptance letter from the University in Sweden + copy;

  • 2 Copies of educational degrees; university/college/high school etc (Attested from Foreign Ministry);

  • Letter of confirmation from the sponsor of the studies + copy;

  • Letter of confirmation from the sponsor of the studies + copy;

  • 2 copies of the Bank statements, last 6 months (the applicant should be able to show an amount of SEK 7300 (approximately 3800 Dirham) a month for at least 10 months a year, for the entire study period);

  • Health Insurance for students whose studies will not last more than 1 year;

  • (Fill in all the forms in English)

Since the filing date, it normally takes two to three months time to process the application. After the embassy received the Swedish Migration Board's decision, it will inform you as soon as possible.
