Chinese students who want to study in Switzerland must have a Swiss student visa issued by the Swiss embassy or consulate. Visa applications generally require the following documents and procedures:
Swiss Student Visa Application:
Students who are interested in studying in Switzerland must obtain Swiss student visa. The visa application process usually takes about three months. For student visa applicant, they are required to provide their documents with German, French, English or Italian translations.
Application Form:
The applicant should fill out application form (with a typewriter or blue/black ball pen), and should indicate the date and also attached signature.
Swiss visa application forms can be downloaded from the embassy website or you can print online. After filling out, it should be sent to the embassy. To facilitate visa processing, Chinese applicants should send the original to the embassy.

Requirements:
Three recent passport photographs are also needed (colored or black and white), six copies of passport pages, and three copies of all other visa. The original notice of the school and original bank deposit certificates/bank guarantees should also be submitted. Other requirements include two copies of the notarized certificate of qualifications, curriculum vitae, and statement of purpose stating the study plan/future plan. If the medium of instruction is English, applicants are required to submit proof of English proficiency such as the IELTS rest results.
Visa Fees:
Applicants are required to pay 55 Swiss francs. Please provide exact amount. Additional cost is needed if the passport will be mailed to the applicant (within China is 30 yuan and in Mongolia 140 yuan)
If necessary, the Swiss embassy / consulate general of Switzerland in Shanghai will require the applicant to provide other additional information.
Applications must be sent to Beijing, Shanghai Guangzhou or Hobng Kong Swiss embassy / consulate general of Switzerland. The office hours is Monday-Friday 9am-11am.
Holders of passports issued from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui and Shanghai should apply to the Swiss Consulate General in Shanghai.
Visa Issuance:
Complete information will be transferred to Switzerland for visa approval. In this process, only the applicant can be able to obtain visa information. Once the application is approved, the embassy of Switzerland / Swiss Consulate General in Shanghai will notify the applicant.
Visa applicants must provide the following documents:
A. valid passport
B. tuition receipts transferred to the Swiss through bank ( should be fax by the school to the Swiss embassy)
C. Confirmation from the recognized Switzerland schools that the applicant has paid all the costs (at least the first year).
